By combining the New Instrumental Music with the essence of the
Folklore of the Native Americans, David and Steve Gordon have created a
series of themes based on percussive rhythms with tribal traits,
ethereal environments sustained by synthesizers, and melodies that
combine a classical romanticism with the mysticism of Indian
traditions. All this, together with subtle touches of Jazz and Pop,
besides some almost subliminal brush-strokes of Ambient.
Combinando la Nueva Música Instrumental con la esencia del Folklore de
los indios norteamericanos, David y Steve Gordon han elaborado una
serie de temas basados en ritmos percusivos con rasgos tribales,
ambientes etéreos sustentados sobre sintetizadores, y melodías que
combinan el romanticismo clasicista con el misticismo de las
tradiciones indias. A todo ello, hay que añadirle sutiles toques de
Jazz y de Pop, además de algunas pinceladas casi subliminales de
Ambient.
Die Gordons haben sich Zeit gelassen für ihr neues Album. "Drum
Medicine" schließt nahtlos an die erfolgreichen Vorgänger "Sacred Earth
Drums" und "Sacred Spirit Drums" an und geht sogar noch einen Schritt
weiter. david und Steve nehmen ihre Zuhörer mit auf eine schamanische
Klangreise, die auf einzigartige Weise Stammestrommeln mit indianischen
Flöten und Naturgeräuschen kombiniert. Die Tierlaute aus der Prärie -
wie das Geheul der Wölfe und Kojoten und der Schrei des Adlers -
schaffen eine einzigartige Atmosphäre. Die rituelle Welt der
Stammestänze wird lebendig. "Drum Medicine" eignet sich zum Trance-Tanz
ebenso wie zur dynamischen Meditation. Kurze Meditationstexte im
Booklet führen in die Thematik der Stücke ein und und können
unterstützend bei Visionsreisen eingesetzt werden.
