Three years after their first album "New Horizon", Art Of Infinity
comes out with "their endless journey into the space" - a concept album
"Dimension Universe".
Thorsten Sudler-Mainz and Thorsten Rentsch this time decided to create
things in big, so they invited plenty of excellent musicians that can
flaunt with their long acitvity and collaboration references that
ranges from Deep Purple to Alan Parsons Project. The two Thorstens
colaborate with most of the contributors to their first album but have
added guitarist Klaus H., even a real drummer (Sibi Siebert -Twelve
Drummers Drumming) for the first time, Chandeen-vocalist Antje Schulz
and percussionist Mario Argandona (ex-Vocaleros). The album opens with
the short preface piece "All Galaxies Sun", which sets the tone,
accenting instrumentation this time being the dobro and acoustic
guitar. "Cosmic Rain" is a more up-beat number (very drum'n'bass) with
Antje Schulz providing the main vocals. Rick Wright's influence is all
over "Supernova" but the addition of live drums and an expert guitarist
make their mark. The piano and acoustic guitar during the intro of the
14 minutes "Drift Upon The Sky" are crisp and pure in tone, the choir
provides an almost Russian flavor, Stefan Höllering's sax is incisive
and the spoken vocals fit the mood of the piece. The final track
"Trimelar Starflight" is resplendent with atmospherics throughout the
slow build-up but finishes on a high with more acoustic guitar and
chant-like female vocals.

Drei Jahre nach dem von der Presse hochgelobten Debut "New Horizon"
legen die beiden Masterminds Thorsten Sudler-Mainz und Thorsten Rentsch
ihr neues Album "Dimension Universe" vor. Zusammen mit weiteren 14
Gastmusikern haben sie ihr neues Album eingespielt und wieder bis ins
kleinste Detail ausproduziert. Im Vergleich zum Vorgängeralbum sind
diesmal mehr Gitarren und Drums zu hören. Mit Klaus H. haben Art Of
Infinity diesmal einen der besten Gitarristen mit an Bord und mit Antje
Schulz (Chandeen), Sibi Siebert (ex-Twelve Drummers Drumming) und Mario
Argandona (ex-Vocaleros) hat das Duo weitere hervorragende Mitstreiter
für sein Art-Progressive - Project gewinnen können. Vom ersten Album
sind auch wieder Eva Wolf (vocals), Matthias Krauss (Keyboard, Gitarre)
und Stefan Höllering (Saxophone) zu hören.
So klingt das konzeptionell angelegte Album wieder sehr atmosphärisch
und stellenweise bombastisch. Mit der 14-minütigen Hymne "Drift Upon
The Sky, dem Hauptsong des acht Titel umfassenden Albums, setzen sich
Art Of Infinity selbst neue Maßstäbe und vereinen Ambient, Artrock,
Trance und Worldmusic zu einem ureigenen Stil. Das von Antje Schulz
gesungene "Cosmic Rain" spielt mit seinen Drum'n'Bass Rhythmen mit den
Facetten des Pop. "Supernova" hat wieder den floydesken Bombast und
"Trimelar Starflight", letzter Song und zweiter Longtrack auf dem
Album, endet mit den groß angelegten Worldgesängen von Eva Wolf.
